1. Babolat Shadow Spirit
The Babolat Shadow Spirit badminton shoes are designed for intense play, providing exceptional comfort and performance. Ideal for long training sessions and repeated matches, these shoes ensure agility and precision without causing friction or damage. You can often see me wearing these shoes in my YouTube videos, as they are one of my favorites.
- Price: 7999 M.R.P, but generally available for 4000-5000 rupees
- Color: Black/Light Blue/White/Cherry Tomato Red
Key Features:
- Michelin Sole: Developed in collaboration with Michelin, this sole offers a three-dimensional grip and a unique rubber formula for explosive movements and controlled stops.
- Long-Lasting Protection: Lateral reinforcements and heel cushioning protect against impacts and sudden changes in direction, with a sole grip that prevents slipping.
- Single Layer Mesh: Provides extra support for lateral movements.
- Internal Protection: A durable protective piece on the inner forefoot enhances the upper’s durability.
- Ortholite Die Cut: The foam insole offers exceptional comfort, breathability, and durability.
- Active Sculpture: Supports high-impact movements and sudden stops.
Cons:
There aren’t many complaints, as the shoes offer great value for their price. However, due to the extra material in the front for durability, I have experienced toe pain. This might be unique to my experience, as I haven’t encountered this issue with other shoes I’ve recommended in this blog.
2. Li-Ning Ultra Speed
The Li-Ning Ultra Speed shoes are designed for superior comfort and stability, helping players sprint faster and perform efficiently on the court. They are the most cost-effective yet stable shoes in this price segment.

4. Yonex SHB 50 EX
The Yonex SHB 50 EX badminton shoes are known for their excellent balance of comfort, stability, and performance, making them ideal for players seeking a reliable mid-price option. The SHB series marks the start of Yonex’s premium range but lacks some of the inner comfort found in higher-end models like the Power Cushion 65 Z3, which is almost three times the price.
- Price: 5990 M.R.P, but generally available under 4500 rupees
- Upper: Synthetic fibre, PU, synthetic leather, durable mesh, and skin-fit design
- Midsole: Phylon material with Power Cushion technology for better response and cushioning
- Outsole: 100% non-marking rubber for superior traction and grip
Key Features:
- Power Cushion Technology: Offers three times more shock absorption, with exceptional bounce-back capabilities.
- Toe Assist Shape: Reduces pressure on the big toe, enhancing midfoot and heel support.
- Hexagrip Sole: Provides 3% more grip and reduces weight by 20% compared to standard soles.
- Round Sole: Ensures fluid movements and maximizes energy transfer during play.
Cons:
The Yonex SHB series, while premium, lacks the inner comfort of higher-end models. Using an insole might improve the comfort level.
5. Li-Ning Ultra Fly
