1. Yonex Astrox Lite 27i

  • Weight: 77g
  • Tension: 30 lbs
  • With its SLIM SHAFT, the Astrox Lite 27i promises more speed and power, designed to effortlessly cut through the air. Its ISOMETRIC feature enlarges the sweet spot, ensuring greater control without compromising power. The AERO+BOX FRAME offers a solid hitting feel and swift swing, while the ROTATIONAL GENERATOR SYSTEM maximizes control, enabling smooth transitions between shots.

Yonex Astrox Lite 27i remains a popular pick among badminton players, and for good reason. It provides excellent value for its price. The racket boasts remarkable balance. Although it may not offer the same level of tension as some other rackets discussed here, the Astrox Lite 27i still delivers powerful smashes while maintaining exceptional balance.

2. Apacs Counter Attack

  • Weight: 73g
  • Tension: 35 lbs
  • Boasting a weight of just 73g, the Apacs Counter Attack, crafted with Nano Light Technology, minimizes air resistance and enhances swing speed. Its Extra Slim Shaft design provides strength and control, while the 30T JAPAN H.M. GRAPHITE ensures stability and accuracy during gameplay.

This one is truly impressive. While Apacs may not be as renowned as Yonex, it dominates the racket market in this price range. Apacs rackets provide high tension with lower weight, catering mainly to intermediate players. The Apacs Counter Attack is definitely worth checking out.

3. Yonex Arcsaber 71 Light

  • Weight: 77g
  • Tension: 30 lbs
  • Constructed from Full Graphite, the Arcsaber 71 Light promises speedy shots and maneuverability without compromising on power. Its Isometric frame shape expands the sweet spot in all directions, while NANOSCIENCE technology integrated into the shaft offers stiff flex and unparalleled repulsion power.

The racket feels both light and powerful. I’m not sure how Yonex developed this technology, but I’m impressed. It’s great to be able to execute powerful smashes with such a lightweight racket. However, I wouldn’t recommend this racket to everyone due to its balance, which I found to be less adequate compared to the other rackets discussed in this blog.

4. Young Fury XBlade

  • Weight: 75g
  • Tension: 30 lbs
  • Engineered with power frame technology, the YOUNG Fury XBLADE offers high restorability, anti-torsion properties, and greater elasticity. Ideal for rally singles or fast-paced doubles, it features a balance point suited for quick swings and high racquet speed.

The racket felt sturdy in my hands. The Young Fury XBlade is light and well-balanced. It’s the most budget-friendly option in this price range, and Young is significantly upping the competition in the market.

5. Yonex Arcsaber 100 Taufik

  • Weight: 85g
  • Tension: 24 lbs
  • Designed for intermediate players, the Yonex ArcSaber 100 Taufik Badminton Racket features top-quality graphite for improved balance, force, and control. Its heavy head provides momentum and extra power for smashes and third-line shots, while the extra stiff shaft facilitates powerful smash shots. With its lightweight design, it enables quicker swings through the air for dominating gameplay.

This happened to be my initial badminton racket, and naturally, I have a particular fondness for it. Nevertheless, I still cherish this racket to this day. Its head-heaviness contributes significantly to the force and momentum behind smashes. Overall, I appreciate the overall balance of this racket. It’s worth noting that modern rackets tend to be lighter, making this one stand out as a notable advantage. However, I don’t think it’s readily available anymore.
